Team Sponsorship

As with all teams when they first start up one of the things they lack is sponsorship for kits. The good thing for us was that we have been more fortunate than most and now have two great sponsors.

The Squads match day kit is sponsored by
Your Choice Fruit and Veg
of St. Helens.

Introduction

Garswood Under 9s B was formed in the summer of 2006,and in the early days we had a squad of just 9 players. Within two months the squad soon increased to its present level of 16 players.

With the vast majority of the lads in the squad never playing in a team before the main objective during the summer for myself, Neil Littler as Manager and Rick Mitchell as Head Coach was to get the lads as many friendly games and summer Tournaments as possible.

As the summer rolled on and the lads played more and more football it became very clear what an enthusiastic bunch of lads we had and it wouldn’t be long before they developed into a half decent team.

The highlight of the summer for me was when the lads represented Garswood in the Manchester Festival of Soccer. The lads all showed a lot of commitment and despite winning only one game all had a great day with each player coming home with a medal, a goodie bag and a picture of themselves with the F.A Cup.
