March Match Reports

March has once again been a really successful month for Garswood under 9s.The lads have played three league games and one cup game and they have won all four games.

GAME 1 3/3/07 Monks (away)
The first win of the month was a 5-1 victory away at Monks. The lads controlled the game from the first minute to the last and could have quite easily won by more. The goal scorers were keelan Greenhalgh (2), Reece Naylor, James Mitchell and Ross Pilling. Man of the Match went to our ever-present Left Winger Reece Naylor.

GAME 2 10/3/07 Cadishead (home)
In my opinion this was probably the lads best performance in the league for a number of weeks. The lads played some great football and really did deserve their 3-0 win. The goal scorers were Bradley Brown, Reece Naylor and James Brewer. Man of the Match went to our rock solid defender Robert Green.

GAME 3 17/3/07 Bruche (home)
Game 3 of March was our quarter final cup-tie against a team that has given us more trouble than any other this season, and today’s game was no different. The game was played in a great spirit and Garswood eventually went through to the semi-final thanks a Ross Pilling goal and a late own goal by Bruche Man of the Match went to our creator in the midfield Keelan Greenhalgh.

GAME 4 24/3/07 Whittle Hall (home)
The final game of the month was again another great victory in what was a hard fought battle, with Garswood eventually running out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Reece Naylor, James Mitchell and Ross Pilling. Man of the Match went to Ross Pilling who in recent weeks has shown that he is coming back into some of his early season form.

SUMMARY
Our leading goal scorers are Reece Naylor with 14 and James Brewer with 13.The team is now in the cup semi-final and still sitting top of the league.
