Cromwell B 1-6 Garswood U14 A

Garswood were chasing their 4th win of the season but got off to the worst possible start when they conceded a well taken goal after 5 minutes as Cromwell took a deserved lead. This sparked Garswood into life and after a number of missed chances and outstanding saves by the Cromwell goalie Grant finally put them level after a through ball by Quinny which the Cromwell defender sliced into his path and he lobbed it into the net. Garswood kept the pressure on Cromwell who were struggling to get out of their own half by now and it was only a matter of time before they added a second. It came through right midfielder Ben Whittle who got on the end of a cross from the left by Grant, he struck it first time and wrong footed the goalie to put Garswood into a deserved 2-1 half time lead.

The second half started as the first finished with Garswood totally dominating and 10 minutes in, a great ball from the left from Mike found Patrick in the box who brought it down and fired it in for his second goal of the season, it wasn`t long till the outstanding Grant Pilling got his 5th goal in 3 games after he put it in at the second attempt, the Cromwell goalie saved his first attempt but he followed it in and finished from a tight angle. It was the two subs who finished the scoring with new signing Leon Rosa getting his first for the club after another diagonal ball from the very impressive Mike Tinsley. He controlled well and rifled it into the bottom corner to make it 5-1. Jamie Mcquade finished the scoring with a nice piece of skill to beat the last defender and smashed a great left foot drive into the roof of the net to complete one of the most oustanding peformances I have witnessed as Garswood manager. We need to keep this up over the next 3 weeks as we are playing the 3 teams above us WELL DONE LADS!
