Woolston 6-2 Garswood

The game started as usual at a fast pace with good spells of football from both sides. Woolston opened the scoring with a long range slot from outside the box, on 15 mins, giving Callum in goal no chance.

Garswood replied straight away with a great move from midfield involving Connor Locklin and Ethan Miller ending in Wesley Spencer slotting the ball into the bottom corner. Garswood continued with lots of pressure in all areas of the pitch, Ethan Miller getting their second, to go 1 – 2 on 25 mins, with a neat lob over the keeper after a great pass from Connor.

Both teams were well up for this game, and both went close to scoring, testing the keepers. Woolston finally equalized  one min before half time, again with a long range shot. 2 – 2 at half time.

Second half a good contest, Much the same as the first. Woolston score to go ahead on 45 mins and get another 5 mins later. Garswood start to look tired but keep working hard. Excellent efforts from Charlie Eatock and Kieran Lackey keep Woolston out. Ethan goes very close twice, just getting knocked off the ball in the box. Connor wins free kick on the edge of the box, which goes just over the bar. Woolston get a goal with a breakaway down the left to make it 5 – 2, and put the game out of Garswoods reach. They score again with 5 mins left to make final score 6 – 2.

A great game played in the right spirit. 2nd in league against the bottom. A very close contest considering the result. Well Done Garswood lads. Very proud of you. All great effort and attitude. Keep playing the way you are, first win is coming.

Man of the match ; Dylan Robinson, who never put a foot wrong all game. Great efforts by Charlie, Keiran, Connor, Wesley, Ethan and Tom.
