Eagle 1-2 Seneley & Garswood C

Garswood go into this fixture with lots of confidence from last weeks performance.

As usual a very close contest between these two sides. Nothing much in it for the first 20 mins, both sides playing well and creating chances, then a slip at the back lets Eagles centre forward in as he shoots from outside the box. He miskicks the ball to a player in an offside position, who slots the ball past Callum for the second week in a row. Very frustratingly the goal stands 1-0 to Eagle. The game continues very tight to half time.

Garswood get 2nd half under way, determined to write the bad decision off and really get stuck in. Both teams continue to play well when at 45 mins Ethan Miller picks up the ball ten yards outside the box. He takes on the defender and beats him into the box and slots the ball past the keeper. A superb individual goal 1-1.

Eagle come back strong. Callum Eden makes some good saves to keep it level. Also Declan Livesley and Charlie Eatock make brilliant tackles inside the box to keep Eagle out. Garswood ride their luck as Eagle strike the crossbar on 55 mins. The match is evenly balanced, then Garswood begin to pressure the Eagle goal. First with a good chance for Danny Fitzpatrick from a pass from Ethan Miller, then a shot from Connor Locklin just over the bar. Garswood continue to press winning a corner.

Ethan Miller catches Eagle asleep at the back, passes the ball short to Connor who takes a touch and puts in a great cross straight onto Wesley Spencer’s head, on the penalty spot. A brilliant brave header from Wesley. 2-1 on 62 mins.

The last 8 minutes are end to end as Eagle try to get one back. A very exciting game with the right final result. Excellent efforts from all the team especially Wesley Spencer, Keiran Lackey, and Callum Eden in goal, who was Man of the Match. Well Done lads, you deserved it!!!!
