Rainhill Utd B 3-4 Garswood C

The match started with Rainhill on the attack from the off. Gaswood withstand early pressure until Rainhill get the first goal on 10 mins. Defence out of position. Simple tap in on the back post. The lads pick themselves up and get on with the game, both teams playing well. A very good contest for the rest of the first half. Both keepers making good saves to keep their team in the game. 1 – 0 at half time.

Second half gets underway as the first. Garswood slow to get going. Rainhill score from a corner 2-0, on 40 mins. From then on Garswood spark into life. Om the attck Ethan Miller wins a free kick well outside the box, on the right wing. Declan Livesley delivers an exellent cross to the back post where Keiran Lackey slides in on 48 mins. 2-1.

Ten mins later after a very good spell from Garswood, they get another free kick in the same position. Declan sends the ball into the box. This time Ethan slots the ball in. 2-2 on 58 mins. Both keepers are kept busy making good saves. On 62 mins Rainhill score again from a corner 3-2.

Garswood pick themselves up again and come back. Keiran takes the ball from halfway straight through the middle and is brought down in the box. The ref. gives a penalty kick. Wesley Spencer steps up as Captain and slots the ball under the keep on 65 mins. 3-3.

5 mins to go Garswood well on top. Everyone giving 100%. With 1 min to go Dylan Robinson receives a pass from Dan Foster. Finds himself one on one with the keeper and fires the ball into the corner, giving the keeper no chance. 3-4

Garswood work hard for last minute to keep Rainhill out. Brilliant win away from home against a very good team.
Well done lads. Heads never dropped once, and never gave up.

Excellent personal performances from: Charlie Eatock,Keiran Lackey,Wesley Spencer and Callum Eden. Good debut from Daniel Foster and welcome back Nathan Bonney, whos been out since October 2010 with a broken arm.
